Learning about Place Through Food Dec. 10

Please join us for Learning about Place Through Food on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Deming Public Library.

Community Engagement Fellows is co-hosting this event alongside Common Threads, East Whatcom Regional Resource Center-Opportunity Council, PeaceHealth, Whatcom County Library System, WWU Community Health Program, WWU Salish Sea Institute, WWU Sustainable Communities Partnership, and York Community Farm.

Learning about Place Through Food is open to all seeking to build and improve place-based education that focuses on local foods and food systems. We hope to include a wide array of people who harvest, grow, process, cook, eat, and teach about local food.

The event will be an active social learning space following the Community Engagement Fellows model. This approach generates relationship-building and knowledge-acquisition about each other's work, and reveals opportunities for collaboration.

We will focus around a series of design clinics (click here for a description) focused on questions that relate to food education in our region. Those who RSVP will be given an opportunity to submit a design clinic question as the event approaches.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP by Thursday, Dec. 5 using this simple form:
