June Commencement is around the corner! Can you help?
June 2023 Commencement Ceremonies will be held on Friday, June 9, Saturday, June 10, and Sunday, June 11. June 2023 commencement invitations are available for any student who graduated in March 2023, or who is planning to graduate in Spring or Summer 2023.
Commencement Helper Invitations:
Whether you are a Western student, staff, or faculty member (aka the community of individuals wishing to lend a helping hand), we will need the assistance of all Westerners to welcome students’ family and friends to campus for commencement. You are invited to complete the Commencement Helper Sign-up Form to indicate interest in working or volunteering for the weekend of June 9-11. If you can join us for all 3 days, wonderful! If your schedule better fits choosing one of the three days, we look forward to your assistance and will pair with a job on one of the many event teams.
Student Invitations:
Winter 2023 graduates and Spring or Summer 2023 pending graduates have been sent invitations for Commencement Reservations via their WWU email. Invitations have been released on a rolling basis beginning March 6th. Graduating students are reminded of two deadlines:

Friday, May 5, 2023 – Final Deadline for Spring 2023 Degree Applications as well as the deadline for Summer 2023 Degree Applications if the Summer graduate would like to attend June Commencement. A degree application is the first step for Commencement Eligibility.

Friday, May 12, 2023 – Deadline to submit Commencement Reservations
This form will only be active for those who have been assigned the Commencement Reservation form. Submitting this form helps the Commencement Team know to prepare a name card for a graduate (required to walk across the stage) and is the mechanism to share phonetic name pronunciation and an online graduation slide (photo and Message of Thanks).
Faculty Invitations:
The Faculty invitation to participate in commencement was shared via email to the Council of Deans last week. For faculty who need regalia or wish to be considered for selection as a designated hooder for graduate students, quick action is necessary. Please complete the participation form by Friday, April 28, and place the order for your regalia through our vendor, or let the Commencement Team know if you would like assistance in placing the order. If a faculty member already has their own regalia to dress for the occasion, the participation form is due by Friday, May 19.
