Winthrop embraces ‘Wayfinding Plan’ for improved signage

The plan’s intent is to help visitors and residents move around and through the town more efficiently, with less signage confusion and clutter, through what the council’s adopted resolution calls a “cohesive approach.”

The Wayfinding Plan was developed this past summer by Jaimie Richards, an intern with the Western Washington University Sustainability Pathways program. Earlier, Richards presented a draft plan to the council with ideas for improved signs to help visitors reach businesses and parks via pedestrian paths. He also recommended revisions to signs for parking areas.
