Peacocke leads WWU women to victory

Western Washington junior point guard Taylor Peacocke scored a season-high 24 points and the Vikings led wire-to-wire in a 69-58 victory over Simon Fraser University on Tuesday, Jan. 19, in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women’s basketball contest.

The Vikings improved to 12-5 overall and gained sole possession of first place in the GNAC with an 8-1 league mark. WWU has won 11 of its last 13 games after opening the season 1-3. Simon Fraser had its three-game winning streak snapped to fall to 7-7 overall and 5-4 in GNAC play.
