‘Mischief makers,’ teachers and visionaries get a nod in inaugural Whatcom Arts Awards

After more than two decades living and teaching in Bellingham, Kuntz’s name has become synonymous with the local dance scene.

“I think it’s really, really cool [not] that I’m being recognized, but that dance is being recognized,” she said. “There’s so much dance in our community … I mean, we are a dance-rich town.”
