Longtime Ferndale coach, star safety at WWU dies at 76

Vic Randall, who coached and taught at Ferndale High School for 43 years and was a standout safety at Western (then Western Washington State College), died Sunday, May 10 at age 76 after battling Alzheimer’s disease.

Randall, born Sept. 9, 1949, in Mount Vernon, was a star athlete at Burlington-Edison, where he earned all-league honors in football, basketball and baseball, according to a Thursday, May 14 press release by Western Washington University.
