International Affairs Association to host panel discussion on tariffs and their potential impacts Feb. 6

WWU's International Affairs Association will host a special faculty panel event, “Tariffs, Wallets, and You: Trump’s Foreign Policy and Economic (In)security,” covering the impacts of foreign policy on our economy and future well-being from 3:30-5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6 in Fraser Hall 201.

This event is free and open to the public.

Featuring faculty members Adam Wright, Brandon Dupont, Cynthia Horne, and Reid Dorsey-Palmateer, this event will help tackle the structure, context, and implications of proposed U.S. tariffs on our country and the world, delving into the ways these policies have shaped our economy. We look forward to hosting students from across campus to contribute to this exciting event and ask questions of our political economy experts.

This program will allow students to raise important questions about foreign policy decision-making and how impactful actions in D.C. affect everyday life, stimulating valuable discussions about the power of ideas in national policy.

The panel will be followed by a catered reception at 5 p.m. in Fraser’s lobby space with our faculty participants, allowing for more discussion with panelists.
