Interested in being a paid legislative intern in Olympia this winter?
On Thursday and Friday, Oct. 9 and 10, recruiters for the Washington Legislative Internship will be on campus for students interested in interning for the Winter 2026 session. Come to the drop-in information sessions with the chance to meet and talk with recruiters; students from all fields of study are invited and welcome to attend, as this amazing internship opportunity is not limited to political science students!
Political experience is not necessary, and students of all majors are encouraged to apply. The internship program seeks applicants from diverse backgrounds and political ideologies who are active leaders, engaged in campus communities, and excited to learn about government while gaining practical job skills. Whether your interest is in law, business, communications, environmental policy, public health, or other areas, there is a place for you in Olympia!
The 2026 Intern Cohort have a priority application deadline of Oct. 22, and a final deadline of Oct. 29.
Information Session Info
The 2026 internship begins Jan. 6, 2026, and ends March 12. Students must be enrolled juniors or seniors, in good academic standing, and receiving academic credit for the internship. Interns during the 2026 session will earn a stipend of $2,400 per month to support their living expenses. Come learn more about this fantastic opportunity to be a part of state government!
