Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is coming up!
The Basic Needs Hub invites students, staff and faculty to participate in this important week of Awareness. With over 50% of college students in WA experiencing basic needs insecurities we invite you to come together as a campus community around these issues.
Thursday, November 13th, 4-6pm a showing of the film The Last Class, in Fraser 201
A documentary about Robert Reich’s final semester teaching Wealth and Poverty at UC Berkeley. The film screening will also include a short panel presentation. Free for students, suggested donation from staff and faculty.
Tuesday, November 18th, Pack the Pantry, 9-4pm in Red Square.
Donate nonperishable food items and hygiene items to the WHOLE Pantry.
Wednesday, November 19th “True North: Stories that Guide Us,” in PAC 199 DUG Theater at 5:30pm.
Inspired by The Moth, True North is a storytelling event where tellers take the stage to share real experiences from their lives. Join us for hot cocoa and stories of courage, change, discovery, and connection. Free for students. Suggested Donation for Staff + Community.
Friday, November 21, Free Kitchen Flea Market and Resource Fair 11-2pm in the Viking Union MPR.
Students are invited to pick up free kitchen items and get connected to campus and community resources.
*Staff and faculty can donate now- through 11/19 gently used kitchen items to The Basic Needs Hub or donation boxes located in Fairhaven 348, Rec Center, Parks Hall 45, AASAC Old Main 387, and the Tutoring Center in Wilson 280.
