Healthy Minds Fair set for Nov. 1-2 in the VU MPR

Join staff from Western's Counseling Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 1-2  in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room for the annual Healthy Minds Fair. The fair will offer such activities as a relaxation station including massage therapists (LMP’s), therapy dogs, information on the counseling center, coping skills, raffle, and activities about reducing stress. The fair will include resource organizations and identity groups from on and off-campus.

The WWU Mental health fair is part of a larger campaign of “upstream” suicide prevention.  This involves getting students to seek services before they are in crisis (i.e. at the beginning of emotional distress).  The mental health fair focuses on increasing use of supportive and mental health resources, reducing stigma, building resilience, and promoting a positive community and appropriate peer support.

These factors help promote a more emotionally healthy student body enabling students to be their best self, achieve their goals, and be a more successful student.

This event is free and open to the public.
