Flags to be lowered May 18 in honor of National Guard soldier

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, in honor of the death of Washington National Guard First Lieutenant David A. Bauders, 25, of Seattle, has directed that Washington state and U.S. flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff in his memory on Wednesday, May 18. Bauders died in Iraq in a non-combat related incident.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business or sunset on May 18. Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.

Interment is scheduled to be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at Tahoma National Cemetery.
