Flags to be at half-staff Sept. 29 in honor U.S. Army soldier

Gov. Chris Gregoire has directed that Washington state and United States flags at all state agency facilities be lowered to half-staff on Wednesday, Sept. 29, in memory of U. S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Two Jonah D. McClellan, 26, of Battle Ground, who died when his helicopter crashed in Qalat, Afghanistan on Sept. 21.

Flags should remain at half-staff until close of business Wednesday or first thing Thursday morning, Sept. 30.

Other government entities, citizens and businesses are encouraged to join this recognition.
