First Upcycling Clothing Swap set for Friday

The first Upcycling Clothing Swap from the Western Washington University Office of Sustainability is taking place on Friday. All students, faculty and staff are invited to drop off any used, dry, wearable clothing to be exchanged. The drop-off period is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 26, and Thursday, Feb 27, at the Office of Sustainability table on the sixth floor of the Viking Union.

You’ll receive tickets for each item donated. These tickets can then be spent at the Upcycling Clothing Swap from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb 28, in the VU Multipurpose Room.

Attendees will be entered to win raffle prizes. Snacks and music will be provided. Also, there will be an opportunity to learn more about clubs, organizations and departments involved in creative reuse and sustainability work both on and off campus.

All clothing that is left after the exchange on Friday will be donated to local organizations that distribute warm clothes to those in need, or to the Ragfinery Textile Transformation Center for adaptive re-use.
