Employees: 'State of the University' address set for Oct. 4 in the Viking Union

Banner says "state of the university" over blue background

All WWU faculty and staff are invited to the “State of the University Address” on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room, when President Sabah Randhawa will share reflections on the past year and goals and priorities for the 2023/24 academic year.

Please join the SOTU event to visit with colleagues and affirm the shared values and commitments that bring us together to advance Western’s mission.

  • For those that wish to attend in-person, the SOTU will take place in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room, with room for about 275 in-person guests. The in-person SOTU will be preceded by an informal breakfast reception beginning at 8:00 a.m., with the State of the University Address starting right at 9:00 a.m. Please use the RSVP form to let us know which events you will be attending IN-PERSON so that we can plan for adequate food and seating. Once we reach capacity, the RSVP system will indicate that the in-person event is full, but it can be viewed remotely via the webpage (see below).
  • For those that wish to watch remotely, the livestream of the State of the University Address will be available on the State of the University webpage (live or by replay). No need to RSVP, but please accept this meeting request just to add it to your calendar.

Feel free to wear your Western gear since this falls on a “Western Wednesday!”

The light breakfast will include options for most dietary restrictions. If you have any accommodations requests, please send them to michele.anderson@wwu.edu
