Cloud Security Alliance Scholarship Founded at WWU

The Cloud Security Alliance, a global cybersecurity organization based in Bellingham that focuses on ensuring a secure cloud-computing environment, has provided a gift to the Western Washington University Foundation that will award an annual $2,500 scholarship for students studying cybersecurity in the university’s Computer Science Department.

The scholarship may be used to pay any costs related to educational expenses, including, but not limited to, tuition, books, materials or supplies.

“We believe that Western Washington University's highly lauded Computer Science department and the establishment of a Cyber Security program are important incubators of talent that the industry desperately needs.  We are thrilled to provide this scholarship for worthy students and look forward to strengthening our partnership with Western,” said Jim Reavis, CEO of the Cloud Security Alliance.

The first scholarship will be awarded this spring for the 2017-18 school year. For more information, contact Paul Cocke, director, Western Washington University Office of Communications and Marketing, at (360) 650-3350 or paul.cocke@wwu.edu.
