'Chalk Up the Town' this weekend to support suicide prevention and awareness!

MAD HOPE, a local suicide prevention education program, is encouraging Bellingham to Chalk Up the Town this weekend by writing encouraging, inspiring, and kind messages around Bellingham with sidewalk chalk. WWU is hosting a station in Red Square where students can come pick up some free chalk, along with resources, to help them participate! Join us from noon to 4 p.m. in Red Square! Registration Link: Qualtrics Survey | Qualtrics Experience Management (Also available on our Mental Health Month page- pws.wwu.edu/mhm)

Join us to spread mental health awareness, encourage connection, and radiate hope among our community! The weekend of May 21-23, head out to your favorite park, local sidewalk, or even driveway, and be creative! Some examples could be a fun hopscotch, or an inspiring quote! “It’s ok to not be ok” or “You are loved!” Remember to stay socially distanced and wear your mask in public places. We would LOVE to see your work! Use the hashtag #WhatcomChalk to share your work! Connection saves lives!
