Campus will be a busy place on Friday, Oct. 21

The WWU campus in Bellingham will be a busy place on Friday, Oct. 21 with four large events scheduled throughout the day. Roads to campus and WWU parking lots will be busier than normal, so visitors and residents alike are encouraged to plan ahead and take alternate forms of transportation to Western if they can.

Governor Jay Inslee and state legislators will visit WWU's Harrington Field on the south end of campus to announce the first pieces of a legislative package strengthening reproductive rights in Washington state. The event is planned for 10:30-noon. Visit the Office of the Governor’s website and follow their social media channels for any updates and more information.

WWU Career and Internship Fair is back in-person. This is a great opportunity for students to meet with recruiters and hiring managers at major employers. The fair is free for all students and alumni, regardless of majors and class levels. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the MAC Gym in the Wade King Student Recreation Center.

Fall Family Weekend is a time when campus and community come together to provide students and their families with fun and meaningful ways to connect with each other as well as with Western and its surrounding communities. Fall Family Weekend kicks off on Friday with events taking place across campus and around Bellingham. Click on the link above for the full program of events.

Fall Preview Days are the biggest fall events for prospective students and their families - and Oct. 21 is the spotlight day for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, the largest college at WWU with 14 departments and three interdisciplinary programs, offering over 50 bachelor's degrees and 12 graduate degrees. Programs of study include: Anthropology, Communications, English, History, Latin American Studies, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and more.
