Call for Art, Films, & Writing for the 2024 UnConference

Are you a disabled artist, filmmaker, or writer or someone who makes work about disability? Are you interested in having your work shown?

The Institute of Critical Disability Studies and the Disability Outreach Center are looking for work to display as part of this year's Disability Studies and Action Collaborative UnConference programming. The 2024 UnConference is Oct. 19 and 20, with programming running 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

ICDS and the DOC will be hosting a reception and art showing on Friday, Oct. 18 before UnConference begins. This could include visual art such as paintings, drawings, or sculpture to be displayed on the walls. We are also welcoming short films in a small film festival showing or pieces of writing and poetry. We want to create a space to show and share disabled artists' work; please reach out to either icds@wwu.edu or doc.education@wwu.edu if you are interested in being a part of this showing.
