BELLINGHAM – More than 150 costumed Western Washington University students will be waiting to welcome local trick-or-treaters in the Ridgeway University Residences complex from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31.

All of Ridgeway’s community lounges will be decorated in fun, safe, age-appropriate themes aimed at children ages 4-12. Groups of trick-or-treaters will be taken, along with their required adult escort, on tours of the complex’s various themed locations, with the total tour taking about 30 minutes to complete; each tour will be led by a member of the WWU Residence Life Student staff.

Activities will include candy collecting, pumpkin painting, foam-sword duels with Capt. Jack Sparrow, fortune telling, and even a visit to Hogwarts with a chance to sit before its legendary Sorting Hat. More than 40 children participated in this event last year, and organizers are hoping to triple or quadruple that number this year.
