Ballot drop box to be available on campus this election day

This month, a special election is taking place in Whatcom County. Ballots already have been mailed to the county's voters; to be counted, these ballots must returned before the end of the day on Tuesday, April 27.

Normally, this would mean that voters would have to pay for stamps and then drop their ballots in the mail.

This special election, the Western Washington University Associated Students and the Whatcom County Auditor's office are working together to have a ballot drop box on campus for election day. Voters can save a stamp -- and get an "I voted" sticker -- by dropping their ballots in the box on campus.

The ballot drop box will be available from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, in Viking Union Room 714.
