April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month; Stop by Red Square April 2 to learn more
CW: Discussion of the societal issue of sexual violence
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), a month devoted to raising awareness about sexual violence, educating communities on how to prevent it, and promoting prevention efforts throughout the year. We take this time to honor survivors and inspire people to take action to end sexual violence. We are all worthy of love, dignity, and respect in our relationships.
Western’s Counseling and Wellness Center will host a SAAM kick-off event on Tuesday, April 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Red Square. We invite the campus community to stop by and learn about upcoming SAAM events, pick up free resources, and connect with campus and community partners!
Visit cwc.wwu.edu/saam for the SAAM events calendar and follow @bewellwwu for educational content around consent, healthy relationships, and ways to support survivors.
Every person deserves to be treated with love, dignity and respect. If you are a Western student who is experiencing or has experienced relationship abuse, sexual violence, stalking or harassment, you are not alone and support is available through Western's Survivor Advocacy Services, a program of the Counseling and Wellness Center.
