BELLINGHAM Six Western Washington University students were chosen to participate in the Leadership Lunch event held at the College of Business and Economics (CBE) on Feb. 19.

The quarterly CBE Leadership Lunch Program recognizes students who have distinguished themselves through scholarship and leadership while in the College of Business and Economics.  Students are nominated by faculty in their respective departments.

The students who were honored at the luncheon included Ryan Gleeson, Marketing, Silverdale; Wesley Dyer, Economics, Colbert; Shannon Sturm, Accounting, Spring Lake, Mich.; Julianne Lynch, Management, Wenatchee; Kyle Skinner, Masters of Professional Accounting program, Federal Way; and Steve Barrett, MBA program, Bellingham.

The students were joined at the lunch by six business leaders and five faculty and administrators from the CBE and the Western Foundation. At the lunch, students met with the business leaders to discuss topics concerning organizational leadership and career development.  The lunch provided an opportunity for the business professionals to contribute to the educational mission of the College of Business and Economics through their interactions with students and the faculty.

The lunch was sponsored by the Center for Excellence in Management Education at the CBE.  The Center for Excellence in Management Education provides a variety of programs designed to connect business and industry leaders with faculty and students to promote business and economics education.
