Participants will have an opportunity to earn a college credit, live in a dorm, and gain valuable information on how to succeed in college. This year the total number of course choices has increased from four to seven.
WWU faculty will teach the courses, which include the following:
- Criminal Law & Justice
- Renewable Energy: A Materials Science Perspective
- Brainiac Bonanza: Behavioral Neuroscience – (new)
- Computer Science: Animation Programming
- Eco-Exploration: An Environmental Impact Perspective – (new)
- Film/Video Production with Final Cut Pro – (new)
- Human Amazing: Kinesiology – (new)
College Quest provides a valuable opportunity to bridge the gap between high school and college and can become a vital part of the college planning process. Participants will have a chance to talk with Admissions counselors for tips on completing a successful college application and to find out how colleges select prospective students.
"College Quest was a great experience and helped me get to know the campus better, and get a realistic taste of what college life is like," said program alumna Kelly Skillingstead. "I was also able to make some friends that I still see to this day."
Additional WWU Youth Programs include: Western Kids Camp (grades K-6), Odyssey of Science & Arts (grades 4-9), WWU Lakewood Jr. Sailing Camp (11-18), Dance Academy for Youth (ages 12-18), Summer Youth Theatre Institute (grades 1-12) and “Grandparents U” (ages 7-14 with grandparent).
