Community invited to Nov. 10 Veterans Day ceremony at WWU

Western students, faculty and staff and community members are invited to a Veterans Day Ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10 in Western Washington University’s Viking Union Multipurpose Room.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony.  Both events are free and open to the public.

Featured speakers will include graduate student Jana Brost, coordinator of WWU’s Veteran’s Safe Zone project, and WWU President Bruce Shepard.  In observance of the holiday, WWU classes will not be held on Veterans Day on Wednesday, Nov. 11; this is also a WWU employee holiday. The ceremony is sponsored by the Veterans Outreach Center, and the reception is sponsored by the President’s Office.

Parking enforcement for this community event has been suspended from 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.  Visit http://ridewta.com for bus route and schedule information. For more information or disability accommodations call Erik Hardwick at (360) 650-6115 or e-mail as.rop.voc@wwu.edu.
