Western Washington University’s Sanford Piano Series will begin its 2009-2010 season with a concert featuring Charlie Albright at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9 in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Concert Hall.

Two Western Washington University sophomores, Nick Varelia and Brian Barhanovich, placed second and third, respectively, in medalist play, leading the Vikings to a tie for the team title at the Grand Canyon University Men's Golf Fall Invitational Tournament, which ended Tuesday at The Golf Club of Estrella.
With four games remaining on a tough road stretch, the Western Washington University women's soccer team travels to La Jolla, Calif., to play nationally ranked UC San Diego on Thursday (7 p.m.) and to Phoenix, Arizona, to meet Grand Canyon on Monday (1:30 p.m.). The Vikings, 6-3-2 overall and leading the Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings at 4-1-1, then return to league play, going to Central Washington on Wednesday, Oct. 14 (3 p.m.) and Western Oregon on Sunday, Oct. 18 (1 p.m.).
With three players among the top four in medalist play, Western Washington University leads an 18-team field at the Grand Canyon University Men's Golf Fall Invitational Tournament heading into final round play Tuesday at The Golf Club of Estrella Ranch.
