WWU College of Business and Economics to Host Fall Speaker Series

BELLINGHAM Western Washington University’s College of Business and Economics will host Jon Gacek and Frank (Sandy) McIntire as the speakers for its Strategic Management Executive Strategy Speaker Series this quarter.

These events are free and open to the public. 

Gacek is the COO and CFO of the Quantum Corp., a data duplication and storage company. Previously, he served as the Chief Financial Officer at Advanced Digital Information Corp. from 1999 to 2006 and also led Operations during his last two years there. He has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from WWU. His talk will be from 3-4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, in Academic Instructional Center West 210 on the WWU campus.

McIntire is the former Managing Director for Johnson & Johnson’s interests in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (the former Soviet Union), where he served from 2000-2007. He has more than 30 years of experience working for top U.S. multinational corporations, and received his MBA from the University of Virginia in 1976. His talk will be from 3-4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 20, in Academic Instructional Center West 210.

The WWU College of Business and Economics Strategic Management Executive Strategy Speaker Series brings senior business leaders to campus to interact with students and local business leaders and share their perspectives on strategic management and leadership, and is presented by the CBE’s Center for Excellence in Management Education.
