BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University’s Department of Theatre Arts will remount its production of “Commedia in the Park” on Sept. 25-26 at 6 p.m. on the Old Main lawn.
Originally featured during the Summer Theatre 2009 season, the show is being remounted to provide patrons and students who where not around this summer the opportunity to experience the production.
Created by the Dell’ Arte Ensemble and directed by Rich Brown, “Commedia in the Park” celebrates the ancient comic tradition of improvisational comedy, known as commedia dell-arte, and it’s wonderful stock characters of the old man, the young lovers, the saucy maid and Harlequin. The performance showcases live music, theatrical costumes, full masks and very physical acting.
“Commedia in the Park” will show at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26 on the Old Main lawn.
