First Transitions session of the summer a huge success

Transitions, Western’s advising, registration and orientation program for incoming transfer students kicked off on Friday, July 17.  Approximately 680 transfer students and 200 of their family members will participate in the program, scheduled for July 17, 23, 24.  Academic departments and numerous campus services office contribute to the program and assist in welcoming these students to Western. Program schedule includes departmental advising, course registration, and workshops to support students’ successful transition to campus.

The addition of course registration to this year’s program has resulted in a significant increase in program participation.  It is anticipated that over 80% of incoming transfer students will participate this year’s program compared to approximately 50% in past years.
