WWU Summer Sessions Offer Courses on More Than 400 Topics

BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University's Summer Session is open to the public and offers more than 400 courses, ranging in length from five days to nine weeks.

Summer courses feature a wide range of unique topics and a variety of formats including, workshops, seminars, intensive short courses, field trips, and weekly classes.

"One example of a unique and timely summer course is Finance 215, which is geared toward a person who is not a Finance major. Participants will learn about various aspects of personal finance including retirement and estate planning, buying a house or car, insurance types, tax planning, and basic investing," said Marlene Harlan, director of Summer Programs.

During Summer Session, participants can complete a full-year-equivalent of Spanish in six weeks, get creative with a course in Nature Writing and Photography, explore topics in Diversity and Social Justice, or travel overseas with WWU faculty and experience a new culture in Africa or India.

Registration is open now and prompt registration is encouraged to reserve your space. Western's Summer Session runs June 23-Aug. 21.
