BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University's Department of Engineering Technology will be installing a polymer sculpture by Western alumnus and professional sculptor Kim David Hall during the department's Plastics Engineering Technology Open House.

The sculpture is being dedicated to Emeritus Professor Claude Hill of WWU's Department of Engineering Technology at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24, outside of the Ross Engineering Technology Building, room 204.  Hill is being honored for his dedication and availability to students during his 30 years at Western.

Hall, who graduated from Western's Industrial Technology - Vehicle Design program in 1984, has leveraged his engineering technology background to become a renowned polythermal artist and metal sculptor.  Hall's range of talent and expertise has led him to invent a new process for crafting polymer sculptures that make finished products nearly indistinguishable from glass.
