Opening night, April 29, will begin at 9 p.m. and will include a show headlined by Ooah (of Glitch Mob) at the Wild Buffalo (208 W. Holly St.). Also on the bill is Portland's Arohan, among others. This event will be a dance party to kick off the festival and is being co-organized with Boogie Universal.

Thursday evening, April 30, will feature an 8 p.m. concert at WWU's Old Main Theatre with local guitarists Todd Smith and Jordan Watson (both of Savage Henry), saxophonist Eric Honour (University of Central Missouri), and sound artist Christopher DeLaurenti (Seattle).

There will be three shows on Friday, May 1: a 7 p.m. concert at Old Main Theatre featuring Portland artist Grouper, Bay area clarinetist and composer Matt Ingalls, and Bay area guitarist/vocalist Christopher Willits; a show at Jinx Art Space (306 Flora St.) coordinated with the downtown Art Walk with local musicians including Evan Bridges, Munich, and Pan Pan; and a late electronica show at the Old Foundry (100 E. Maple St.), another Boogie Universal collaboration with Bluetech (Hawaii), Shen (Toronto) and Welder (San Francisco).

The last show will take place on Saturday, May 2, at 4 p.m. in the PAC Concert Hall and will feature the music of local artist Corey Fuller, Seattle composer Joshua Parmenter, and electronic music pioneer Morton Subotnick (New York). This concert will include performances by pianist Cristina Valdes, clarinetist Sean Osborn, violinist Michael Jinsoo Lim, and violist Melia Watras - all four highly regarded Seattle-based musicians.

WWU's VU Gallery and Fine Arts B Gallery will present works by Australian visual/sound artists Gosia Wlodarczak and Joyce Hinterding, Stephen Hilyard (Wisconsin), Curtis DuBois (Lummi Island), Christopher DeLaurenti, and WWU faculty members Kacey Morrow and Sebastian Mendes.

Each afternoon will include lectures, panels, and workshops with various artists and specialists including Morton Subotnick, Christopher DeLaurenti (The Stranger), Eric Honour, Christopher Willits, and Surrey Art Gallery curator Liane Davison. Check the BEAF website in the coming days for the schedule and location of these events. Artist links are also included on the website.
