BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University's Dance Program will host a pre-performance talk featuring former Trisha Brown Dance Company member, Katrina Warren, at 6:45 p.m. prior to the Faculty Dance Concert on Saturday, April 25 in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Mainstage Theatre.

Warren will speak about the history and significance of the work "Glacial Decoy" - which will be featured during the Faculty Dance Concert - and her personal experience as a performer working with Trisha Brown.

In order to attend the pre-performance talk you must have a ticket to the Saturday, April 25, performance of the Faculty Dance Concert.  Tickets range from $10-$15 and can be purchased through the WWU Box Office at (360) 650-6146 or www.tickets.wwu.edu.

Warren attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and performed with the Trisha Brown Dance Company from 1998-2006. She has restaged Brown's choreography at the Performing Arts Research and Training School in Belgium, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and dance departments around the country.

The WWU Dance Program is the only school in the nation to restage "Glacial Decoy" through an American Masterpiece Grant this year.  This is the third consecutive year WWU's Dance Program has received an American Masterpiece Grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and Dance/USA to support the restaging and performance of a masterwork by a prominent American dance artist.
