BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University's Woodring College of Education will host its 11th Annual Educational Law and Social Justice Forum at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29 in the Wilson Library Presentation room.
This year's theme is "Rethinking Poverty and Education."
Forum speakers will include Rose Spidell, staff attorney of the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington, who will talk about the "school to prison pipeline." John Korsmo, of Woodring's Human Services Department, who will talk about "Poverty and Class: Discussing the Undiscussible;" and Darcy Lees, will discuss her role on Washington State's Multi-Ethnic Think Tank and her former work at the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction in helping children in poverty to succeed in our schools.

The Educational Law and Social Justice forum is sponsored by the Journal of Educational Controversy and the Center for Education, Equity and Diversity at the Woodring College of Education. It is co-sponsored by the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington State, the WWU ACLU student club, and the WWU diversity fund.
