BELLINGHAM - Do you have opinions about how Washington State's regulations impact your business?
Western Washington University's College of Business and Economics' Center for Economic Vitality and the Northwest Economic Council - Whatcom County are collaborating to let businesses know about an opportunity to meet with representatives from Washington's regulatory agencies and voice your opinions. The Westside Vendor Education Seminar will be held April 23 at the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center in Tacoma. Registration is available through April 10.
The Westside Vendor Education Seminar will help businesses in navigating state rules, regulations and services. It will also provide information about bidding on the billions of dollars that public agencies spend annually for goods and services. Due to the cost of the facilities, the cost for each attendee is $50, and lunch is included.
This event is hosted by the Governor's Office in response to the free small small-business roundtables held in eight Washington cities in 2007 and 2008. Business owners communicated they wanted more information to help them be successful in their businesses and to use their time wisely in future seminars.
Event partners include the departments of Revenue; Labor and Industries; Employment Security; Community, Trade and Economic Development; Licensing; Veterans' Affairs and General Administration. The Governor's Office of Regulatory Assistance, the Secretary of State and the Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises will also attend along with representatives from the Internal Revenue Service.
