Geared for grades K-6, the performances are part of the CFPA's Education Matinee Series.  Now in its fourth season, the Education Matinee Series provides free performing arts matinees on Western Washington University's campus to children in grades K-12 and serves nearly 4,000 students a year.

Written by acclaimed author Maurice Sendak and featuring music by Carole King, "Really Rosie" is a delightful musical that celebrates the power of imagination.  The story follows a group of neighborhood friends who, like many children claim, are bored and looking for something to do on a summer day.  Fortunately Rosie, the self-proclaimed leader and sassiest kid on her block, decides that they should film the story of her life and all of her neighborhood friends will be cast in supporting roles.  Together they tell the thrilling, dramatic, funny (and slightly exaggerated) story of Rosie's life through music in the hopes of having the movie chosen to be made by the ‘Producer.'

The 10 a.m. matinee is sold out; however space is still available in the noon matinee.  The performance is free to attend, but reservations are required and are taken on a first-come, first-served basis until the show is filled.  To make your reservation, contact Courtney Hiatt at (360) 650-2829 or e-mail courtney.hiatt@wwu.edu.

Currently in its 33rd season, the California Theatre Center (CTC) hosts three major programs: a resident company that performs primarily for students and families from October to May; a resident company that performs primarily for adults in the summer; and touring companies that perform regionally, nationally and internationally.  For more information on CTC please visit http://www.ctcinc.org/.
