BELLINGHAM - The Puget Sound Blood Center will return to Western Washington University from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 27, 28, and 29.

The blood drive will be held at the Viking Union, room 565, and also at the Mini Mobile on Red Square, near the Humanities Building.

Volunteer donors can aid as many as three patients with only one pint of blood.  However, it takes 700 donors a day to fill the needed supply in the region alone.  The success of the campus Quarterly Blood Drive ranks Western as one of the largest donor groups in the region.

Donors must be at least 18 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and cannot have received a tattoo in the last year.  All donors are welcome and encouraged to bring friends.  Donors should eat a healthy meal and drink plenty of fluids beforehand. The process takes less than an hour, and free juice and cookies are offered following donation. It is recommended to come on the first day or early in the morning to avoid long lines.

For more information on the Western Blood Drive, contact Catharine Vader at (360) 650-2961.
