BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University's International Programs and Exchanges and Career Services Center will host the annual International Opportunities Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22, in the Viking Union Multipurpose Room.
The International Opportunities Fair is the largest campus wide event dedicated to providing information about study, work, volunteer, and internship positions abroad. There will also be ample opportunities for those who want to get involved in international issues locally. Students, alumni, faculty and the general public will be able to meet with representatives from approximately 60 organizations.
Participating organizations include the Peace Corps, IE3 Global Internships, Semester at Sea, Cross Cultural Solutions, American Institute for Foreign Study (AIFS), AHA International, GMSC Recruiting, TESL Express, Academic Programs International (API) and a wide range of programs at Western Washington University with an international focus.
Prior to the Fair, the Career Services Center will conduct two workshops that will be of interest to those who are considering employment or internships abroad. For individuals who are considering teaching abroad, the International Opportunities for Teachers workshop will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at in Viking Union Room 552.
For general information about international possibilities, the International Work, Internships and TESL Opportunities workshop is at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15 in Viking Union Room 552.
For those interested in scholarships for study abroad, International Programs & Exchanges is sponsoring the Scholarships for International Study workshop scheduled for 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, in Miller Hall 232.
