BELLINGHAM - Susanna Yunker has accepted additional responsibilities, with a change of title effective immediately to assistant vice president for Student Affairs and registrar at Western Washington University.
Yunker, who has been the assistant vice president for Student Affairs Academic Support Services at Western, will assume the duties of registrar previously held by Joe St. Hilaire, who recently retired.
"We are fortunate to have Susanna Yunker as an assistant vice president with her strength of experience as a University registrar. Susanna has willingly accepted additional responsibilities during these difficult fiscal times; her leadership in the registrar's role will ensure that faculty and students are well served," said Eileen Coughlin, vice president for Student Affairs and Academic Support Services.
In her new role, Yunker will manage the overall operations of the Registrar's Office in addition to her oversight of Academic and Career Development Services, New Student Services/ Family Outreach, Student disAbility Resources, and Student Outreach Services.
Since 2001, she has served as the assistant vice president for Student Affairs Academic Support Services at Western. Prior to coming to Western Washington University, she was the university registrar at the College of William and Mary from 1999 to 2001; and served as registrar at Boise State University from 1976 to 1999.
Yunker earned an M.Ed from the University of Virginia and a bachelor's degree from Colorado Women's College in Denver.
