Contact: Eric Wainwright, (360) 650-3879, e_m_wainwright@hotmail.com.

BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University's Department of Theatre Arts will present "cheat." Jan. 29 to  Feb. 7 in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Underground Theater.

A collaboratively created new work, "cheat." is based on David Callahan's book "The Cheating Culture: Why More Americans Are Doing Wrong to Get Ahead" and uses it as source material for the original script devised and written by WWU students.

The provocative new work is designed to raise questions rather than give answers, and explores such topics as why do people cheat, what do they gain or lose, and what is the nature of integrity.  It also delves into how cheating affects our relationships, careers, and culture.

"cheat." will show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 29-31, and Wednesday through Saturday, Feb. 4-7, as well as at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 7.

Tickets are available through the WWU Box Office and cost $12 for general and $9 for students and seniors.

WWU Box Office hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and one hour prior to performances.  For individual tickets or disability accommodations, contact the WWU Box Office, (360) 650-6146 or visit http://www.tickets.wwu.edu.
