Getting ready for winter

Western's radio station, KUGS, got its start in the Ridgeway Complex in 1974. The first transmitter was housed in a janitor's closet.

Designs from annual ReMade project go on sale Friday
The junior Industrial-Design class has completed the designs for its annual ReMade project, which challenges the students to produce commercially viable items from industrial waste. The designs go on sale Friday at the WWU AS Bookstore, Ideal in downtown Bellingham, and online at www.widg.blogspot.com.

  • WWU alumna Shannon Harvey receives national teaching award
    Harvey, who grew up on Whidbey Island and graduated from South Whidbey High School before going on to Western Washington University, Seattle University and Seattle Pacific University - where she received her doctorate - said she had no idea what she'd done to deserve the award.
