Center for International Studies launches lunch-time Lecture Series Western's Center for International Studies begins its annual "lunch-time" lecture series on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The series features Western and visiting scholars presenting on a wide range of topics, including international trade, global literature, international education and current world issues. All lectures are Noon - 1 pm in College Hall 131. Most are on Tuesdays, except when otherwise noted below, and are open to all faculty, staff and students. Presenters for fall quarter 2008 are: Sept. 30: Christine Compston, WWU Fellowships Office "Fulbright Grants and Other Fellowships at WWU" Oct. 7: Steve Robinson, Director, Intensive English Program "The International Student at WWU: Challenges & Opportunities" Oct. 14: Vickie Farmer, Intensive English Program instructor "Involving International Students in the Classroom" Oct. 21: Massimiliano Tomasi, Dept. of Modern & Classical Languages "Study Abroad: Italy" MONDAY, Oct. 27: John Purdy, Dept. of English "Indigenous Literature and Transatlantic Scholarship?"
