Be wary of e-mail scams: The distribution of economic stimulus checks has seen an associated rise in the efforts of scammers to pry sensitive information out of computer users. Officials are recommending that users be aware of scams asking for social security numbers and other personal information with the promise of helping secure stimulus checks, which are issued upon filing of 2007 tax returns.
