WWU to Host Second Annual Summer Arts Festival

BELLINGHAM - Western Washington University's College of Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) will present its second annual CFPA Summer Arts Festival showcasing performances by WWU arts disciplines, local talent and internationally renowned artists.

The festival, which runs from June 30 through Aug. 17, includes a capstone weekend, July 31-Aug. 3, with offerings from Western's Dance Program and the 38th annual Summerstock season, as well as Marrowstone Summer Music concerts. 

A full listing of festival activities and details is available online at www.wwu.edu/cfpa.  Featured festival events include: Summerstock performances of "Snoopy!!! The Musical" and "Commedia in the Park;" the Summerstock Youth Theatre Institute; the WWU Summer Dance Concert; Marrowstone Chamber and Orchestra concerts; and walking tours of the nationally recognized Outdoor Sculpture Collection.   

All festival events are ticketed except for the free Marrowstone performances, Summerstock Youth Theatre Institute shows and the Outdoor Sculpture Collection walking tours.  Tickets vary in price from $6 to $16 for festival events and can be purchased through the Community Food Co-op, Village Books, online at http://www.tickets.wwu.edu/ or by calling the WWU Box Office at (360) 650-6146.

WWU Box Office summer hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and one hour prior to the performance.  For disability accommodations or parking information, contact the WWU Box Office.
