Rosetta Key CoverBELLINGHAM - Western Washington University assistant professor William Dietrich will celebrate the recent release of his new novel, "The Rosetta Key," with a feature on Bellingham's Chuckanut Radio Hour.

The Rosetta Key, a sequel to his 2007 novel "Napoleon's Pyramids," follows American adventurer Ethan Gage as he searches for the mysterious Book of Thoth and word of the final fate of his lover Astiza and his rival, Count Alessandro Silano.

Battles, escapes, discoveries, villains, some wry humor and speculation about ancient mysteries combine to bring to a thrilling climax a Napoleonic saga that has already seen the first Ethan Gage novel, "Napoleon's Pyramids," printed in 25 languages.

Dietrich, a WWU graduate and assistant professor of Environmental Journalism at the Huxley College of the Environment, is an accomplished journalist and author. He has published seven works of fiction and three works of non-fiction. His first book, "The Final Forest" (1992), grew out of his reporting on the spotted owl and old growth forest debate; in 1990, Dietrich was part of a four-person team at The Seattle Times that won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting on the Exxon Valdez oil spill.

Dietrich will be featured on the Chuckanut Radio Hour, on radio station KMRE 102.3 FM, at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, to discuss his newly published book.
