BELLINGHAM - The Western Washington University campus committee studying proposals for a WWU presence on the waterfront will host another in a continuing series of public forums at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11 in the WWU Communications Facility, Room 110.
Updates on the project will be provided, including possible options for development by the University at the Bellingham waterfront.
The WWU Board of Trustees on Feb. 8 reviewed several possible development models, including the university serving as a magnet tenant for a private developer and several legal structures that would create independent entities to purchase and develop the proposed university site. In April, the Board will determine which of the models will be used for the development, following public input on the proposals.
President Karen W. Morse appointed the campus committee in spring 2004 to explore the potential for Western's involvement in redevelopment of the former Georgia-Pacific waterfront property.
