BELLINGHAM –Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host “The Rules of Raising Money,” at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13 in the lecture room at the Bellingham Public Library.
There is no cost to attend, but reservations are required; call (360) 778-1762 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to make a reservation.
The presentation will focus on securities law and how it pertains to raising capital, defines what a security is and how a transaction may involve a security. Business owners who are looking to raise capital in the form of debt equity or crowd funding are encouraged to attend.
Guest speakers from the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions include Jordan Rood, associate general counsel at the securities division, and Eric Palosaari, who works as an enforcement attorney.
