Former President of Boeing Turkey to Speak at WWU April 30

BELLINGHAM – Western Washington University’s Center for International Studies will host a lecture by Greg Pepin titled “Politics and Economic Development in Turkey in Middle East Context” at noon on April 30 in the Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Building’s room 130.

The lecture is free and open to the public.

Pepin is the former president of Boeing Turkey and vice president of Boeing International.  While president of Boeing Turkey, he was responsible of all of Boeing’s company business activities in Turkey.

Before joining Boeing in 1999, Pepin served in the U.S. Army for 26 years.  During his service he was stationed in Turkey for 20 years, where he gained knowledge of the language and culture.  His service included being the Army Attaché with the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, Turkey.

Pepin graduated from West Point in 1973, and later received his master’s degree in International Studies at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School. 

He also served as part of a United Nations’ Peace Keeping Force in Syria and Egypt, and in operation Desert Storm.
