The Marrowstone Music Festival continues its 2011 orchestral season this weekend in the Performing Arts Center Concert Hall on Western Washington University’s campus.

On Sunday, all 200-plus of the festival's young students will get together for the Festival Orchestra Concert at 3 p.m. The performance will feature Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Scheherazade” and Alexander Glazunov’s “The Seasons.”

In the spotlight

Western Washington University’s Department of Theatre and Dance and the Summer Youth Theatre Institute will present “The Jungle Book,” directed by Deb Currier, on August 5-7 in the Performing Arts Center Mainstage Theater.

Adapted directly from the British Nobel laureate Rudyard Kipling’s beloved collection of stories “The Jungle Book” written in 1894, this truly collaborative production combines traditional Indian dance, music and story telling with fantasy costumes, integrated puppetry, special effects and beautiful scenery.
