BELLINGHAM – The WWU Department of Music will present its annual concert of the Collegium musicum at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, in the Performing Arts Center (PAC) Concert Hall.

The performance is free and open to the public.

The program will feature rare and newly discovered music for voices and orchestra from the Classical period.  Included will be symphonies from the United States, Malta, and Norway; a trio of intimate notturnos by Czech composer Josef Myslivicek; marches by Joseph Haydn’s bother, Michael; and an entire Swedish opera (in less than 20 minutes) by Joseph Martin Kraus.

The Swedish opera and the Maltese symphony are both world premieres in the 21st century.
